Lakshadweep Islands administrative head quarter is at Kavaratti.

Lakshadweep islands are a great tourist destination for Water sports, fishing with virgin and fragile eco-system. It is a unique and quiet gateway destinations. The only Coral Reef Island in India, rich in flora and fauna. The islands have a humid, warm and generally pleasant climate. The temperature varies from 27 - 30 Deg C. June -September is the rainy season.

At present 3 islands - Kalpeni, Kavaratti and Minicoy have been opened only for Indian tourists. Kadmat,Agatti and Bangaram are open for international and Indian tourists. Liquor is prohibited on all islands except Bangaram.
The Lakshadweep group of Islands are well connected both by air and sea. While islands like Agatti and Bangaram can be reached by air, the other islands can be reached by ship from Cochin. The ship offers different classes of accommodation like cabins and tourist class with A/C seats (Chair Car).
Lakshadweep ship will not be operating between May – October. So only option is flight during these days.

Places of interest.

Agatti Island.

Fishing is the most important industry here. Agatti is the airport stopover from Cochin and Goa. Agatti offers a Resort with water sports facilities. This island is part of Agatti island package.

Bangaram Island

This island is un-inhabited. It is surrounded by a shallow lagoon enclosed by coral reef. Bangaram offers utmost privacy unpolluted comfort with crystal clear water. Facilities for Scuba diving, beach games, swimming, snorkeling and deep-sea fishing. This is the only island where liquor is permitted. This island is part of Bangaram island package.

Kadmat Island

Long sandy beaches and excellent water sport facilities are the attractions here. Water sports crafts like Kayaks, pedal boats, sailing yachts, skiing boats and glass bottomed boats are available on hire. Scuba diving center in the island has become an attraction for water sport enthusiasts. There are Tourist huts aesthetically situated in the coconut palm groves in the beaches facing the lagoon. This island is part of Marine wealth awareness package.

Kavaratti Island

Marine life exhibits can be seen at the new Marine Aquarium which has excellent collection of specimens. To see the exotic under water world easier, glass bottomed boats are available. The Dolphin dive center is another attraction for water sports enthusiasts.

Minicoy Island

This is an important center for tuna fishing. The light house of the island is one of the oldest- constructed in 1885. Tourists can visit the villages, tuna canning factory, the light house etc. This Island is part of Swaying palm package.

Lakshadweep Packages.

1. Coral reef package is a 4 night & 5 days cruise to visit islands of Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy by ship. The Island tour is organized during the day with lunch and refreshments ashore. Night stay on board the ship. Swimming, snorkeling and other water sports are arranged during day tour. Foreign nationals cannot avail this package. All water sports & sightseeing will depend on climatic conditions. This package will not be available between May- October due to Monsoon season

2. Swaying palm package is a 5 nights and 6 days tour to Minicoy Island by ship. Accommodation at Minicoy beach Resorts in cottages built on the beach front. Foreign nationals cannot avail this package. All water sports & sightseeing will depend on climatic conditions.  This package will not be available between May- October due to Monsoon season

3. Bangaram Island package is a 4 days & 3 nights full board package. Cochin-Agatti- Cochin by air, Agatti-Bangaram-Agatti by boat. Stay in Non A/C huts at Bangaram Island resorts. This is a 5 star level Resort.  (Package extendable on pro-rata basis)

4. Marine wealth awareness package is a 5 Nights 6 Days package to Kadmat Island. 2 Nights (To and fro) on board the ship and 3 nights accommodation at Kadmat beach Resorts in cottages built on the beach front. Snorkelling, Glass bottom boat cruise, Kayaking, Scuba diving and Wind surfing are available with extra cost. All water sports & sightseeing will depend on climatic conditions.  This package will not be available between May- October due to Monsoon season

5. Agatti Island package is a 6 days & 5 nights full board package. Cochin-Agatti- Cochin by ship or flight. Stay in cottage at Agatti Resort. Sightseeing to nearby four Islands, Lagoon fishing, Kayaking, Glass bottom boat riding and Scuba diving facility also available at the Resort with extra cost. All water sports & sightseeing will depend on climatic conditions. Agatti is open for international and Indian tourists. (Package extendable on pro-rata basis)
